MyTEFL review, submitted by Alex.

If all of the myTEFL graduate travel blogs are to believe, you will have an “awesome” time on this course; receiving the “best” in online Tefl training and job-finding services. There’s just one problem-those travel blogs aren’t written by people doing it out of love. They are writing about how great MyTEFL is because they get to earn an affiliate commission on each and every new course sign-up that is recorded through their blog. Very disingenuous indeed. It took me 4 days to wrap this course up. A 120-hour course in 4 days. It was in no way a 120-hour course. Very light on the content depth too. And when it was all done and dusted, when I had received my TEFL certificate and was waiting in anticipation for help to locate a job abroad, the help never came. Basically, they try and upsell you on a job placement or internship and go silent when you say you want to look for a job on your own and with their help. I’ve never had an experience like it when so much was promised upfront and so little actually provided. Don’t believe the myTEFL travel blogs! That is the lesson learned from this whole experience.

  1. MyTEFL (https://mytefl.com/) are the spammiest TEFL course out there right now. Their school website shows a picture of a beach, their “accreditation” is laughable at best, and they pay people to write nice things about them online. Until a couple of years ago, I had never even heard of them. This is an online TEFL course not to be trusted. The certification is pretty useless too.
