Have used the certification both in Thailand and Cambodia and never had any issues regarding the authenticity of the certificate. So the certificate is accepted in the SE Asia region without problems, as far as my own personal experience shows. I’ve applied for jobs in the Middle East and the results weren’t exactly the same. Two schools hadn’t heard of the Vantage TEFL program and I think my job application was turned down because of that. I would recommend this program to someone who plans only to teach in SE Asia. The school staff is very friendly/helpful and you receive a very high level of training. the price is very reasonable too. One point which I think is worthy of inclusion in my review is that I’ve seen on a few of the Cambodia teaching forums that you don’t need a TEFL certificate for teaching English in Cambodia. This is incorrect information. A TEFL certificate is generally required and it is the college degree that isn’t always asked for. Both a TEFL certificate and a college degree are required for almost all teaching English jobs in Thailand.
