Hello all, I was looking for ways to earn additional income and much to my surprise discovered that it is possible to do so by teaching English to online students. At first, I thought it might be one of those scams that just take your money, but you really can do it and I view this as being a door into a future career conducted solely online. After some research, I decided to take the online tuition plunge with the CIEE TEFL training program. Over the years, I’ve also had various forms of training but never online, so it really was a plunge into the deep end for me. What I found incredibly appealing was the fact that the training program is self-paced so there are no specific hours you need to block in order to be able to take the course. The course was much easier to follow than I had anticipated and the instructors were available to give feedback and help. The education I received was well worth the money in my opinion and I believe that the certificate from this program will be a tremendous “bell and whistle” for any professional in the “community” to have on his or her resume. I fully endorse the CIEE TEFL program and encourage anyone interested to take a moment and give them a call, their staff is extremely helpful, receptive to prospective new students, and very user-friendly. Don’t buy everything you read on the internet or in the review chat rooms, much (if not all) of the (anonymous) negative postings about CIEE TEFL are either from their competitors or students who failed out of the program …… no surprise there. Yes, you are correct in your analysis. The Online TEFL/TESOL industry is highly competitive and, unfortunately, there are certain TEFL programs that behave unprofessionally; attacking their business competition. It’s almost as if they have a specific marketing department set aside specifically for this reason.
One certain program, which will go unnamed, recently contacted Trusted TEFL Reviews to try and bully us into deleting one of their (verified) customer reviews. They also (incorrectly) claimed that we favor certain schools over others.
We see how other popular TEFL reviews websites delete negative reviews because they receive affiliate money from the TEFL programs they have listed on their site.
This was one of the reasons why we originally began Trusted TEFL Reviews – to provide an unbiased platform, where consumers can read real customer reviews and then make their minds up for themselves.
