Vantage TEFL
Despite the painfully slow vaccination rate here, Thai authorities are increasing the number of persons receiving both shots and in-class teaching is beginning to resume in more and more provinces. I’m still teaching my classes virtually and hope to be fully back on board, teaching face-to-face, come March 2022.

Choosing the TEFL with Vantage TEFL was a no-brainer for me. They have one of the better reputations for TEFL training in Thailand, as opposed to the TEFL mills to avoid that promise of life teaching on a beach yadda, yadda. Have lived in Thailand for over two years and have never run into anyone who claims to teach English on a beach 🙂 There may be work available CLOSE to a beach, but the majority of the real work is in the cities and larger towns. I’m based in Bangkok and the nearest island beach is only an hour’s flight away. Can’t complain 🙂 Certainly, you earn more money in Bangkok and certainly the cost of living is the highest in the country. When you compare prices with western countries it still works out cheap to live here. Traveled to Thailand specifically to take the Vantage TEFL course. To be honest I really didn’t think it would be so easy to find work here. but it was. The course covered everything I was expecting and what was promised and they also help you look for jobs. The other big-name TEFL company in Bangkok is the CELTA through the British Council. At least I think that’s who provides it. I work alongside a CELTA-qualified teacher and we earn the exact same money. The difference is the CELTA costs two or three times more than the Vantage TEFL. Go figure! 🙂 Do come to Thailand and do take the TEFL with Vantage. I’d just wait until the new year so you get to complete the teaching practicum part of the course teaching real students. I’ve heard that they are still arranging the practicum hours virtually until further notice. Vantage TEFL was an awesome combined course and Thailand is beyond awesome! 🙂
