Teaching Overseas i-to-i TEFL review, submitted by Hans.
A bit expensive but a good thing is that you get plenty of time to complete everything. And there aren’t specific study times which you have to make yourself available for. You can access the course at any time and continue on from where you last left off. Other people mentioned the inclusion of grammar and spelling mistakes within the course and this was my experience too. At first I assumed this was a lack of attention to detail, but you have to understand that the course is vast and an error here and there is completely forgivable considering how much information makes up the course. The choice of module themes is excellent as it covers all the ground which you will be required to know when you start out as an ESL teacher. Communication with the school was a bit slow at times, but I never needed to wait longer than a week for a response. itoi do charge for course extensions, if you don’t complete the course in the allotted time, but I never felt they were trying to slow me down so that I would be forced to pay for an extension. As far as I was concerned, all appeared above board and honest. itoi have been around for years and their course runs like a finely-tuned engine. I received the certification without too much delay and I’ve since been teaching online. I’m not sure whether the certification is valid for teaching overseas. I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. In terms of the quality of the course, I’m giving a string five stars assessment.
