This TEFL course was a good experience—practical and well-structured. It was a bit rough around the edges in places, mostly spelling errors, but overall it provided me with the tools and (more importantly) the confidence to teach English as effectively as possible. It taught me very early on that teaching is 1% perspiration and 99% planning. I would, though, have preferred more focus on teaching grammar in different student classroom situations. It covered everything else thoroughly. I just didn’t think there was enough grammar emphasis for a course of this type. This is an easy fix though because I can order a grammar textbook, but I imagine the management assume everyone heading into the course already understands the finer complexities of grammatical theory. I didn’t, but I do recommend the course.
