Post-course, I successfully managed to secure an English teaching position at a school in Budapest, with the program’s assistance, and I couldn’t be happier! They even helped fine-tune my resume so it was more in line with what language schools expect from job applicants, which was a valuable bonus. The program isn’t cheap by any stretch of the imagination, but you do need to approach it as being an investment in your future self, and if you do train with them, you’ll very likely land a teaching job with no problem. The new school year in Hungary begins in September, and I’m heading overseas in August so I have a month to secure an apartment and become familiar with the local cuisine and customs. I’ve always wanted to travel to Central Europe and here I am looking forward to living there for a year! I chose Hungary specifically because it’s geographically an advantageous base from where I can take weekend trips to neighboring countries. OISE TEFL has been a very positive experience, and Hungary: here I come!
