Warning to all considering taking TEFL with Teacher Record: Advertised as “free course” but the course is nothing but a few PDFs that make the course possible to complete in one hour. There is no feedback and no tutor support. When the “free course” is done and dusted, after not learning anything of value, you will be charged for the certificate. I paid $125 (US) for a certificate looking like it was an online template. The real kicker comes when you start interviewing for jobs. Because the course doesn’t teach you anything, you will pretty much fail any job interview. Don’t fall for these “free course” scams! They are never “free”! If I could give less than one star, I would. Teacher Record is a scam, and, as it turns out, an expensive experience.
Quick follow-up comment. I thought The TEFL Academy might be a better alternative. Signed up with them and it also was a disaster. I was about to give up on getting my TEFL online entirely, but wanted to try one more time. I ended up choosing the safe option of TEFL Online Pro, who are the #1 program. Course: https://teflonlinepro.com/120-hour-professional/. Really should have gone with them from the start. Excellent experience so far. Will submit a review when I’m finished. Avoid Teacher Record and avoid The TEFL Academy!
