My motivation for choosing WTI was a strong need to earn a living online and not have to waste my time and energy physically going somewhere to work for a brick-and-mortar business. WTI is one of the recommended TEFL online courses on GoAbroad and the reviews are all five stars. So, I went ahead and enrolled.
Paying with Paypal was smooth and I had access to the course within a few days. Any positives ended there.
The course content is appallingly bad. Many elementary grammar and spelling mistakes. I mean really obvious and needless errors. This immediately made me lose faith in the program.
The online tutor support never happened.
The certificate looks very poor, despite the hidden fee of $199 (USD) that I was demanded to pay for it.
Because I learned very little in the course, I have failed every job interview I’ve had so far.
Now I’m learning that its accreditation is not a real TEFL accreditation.
International TEFL/TESOL Accreditation Council is the accreditation and I read online that the owner of World TEFL Institute created this accreditation website himself but advertises it as an independent accreditation website.
Just another example of how fishy this TEFL program is.
Really, folks, it’s best to avoid this program and not give them any of your time and money.
It’s just another TEFL scam – a wolf dressed up as a sheep.
I wrote a negative review on the Facebook page for World TEFL Institute and the next day I looked and they had deleted the Reviews tab so now they have no reviews showing.
That’s why I wanted to write my review.
Have decided to cut my losses and enroll in another TEFL program.

It is a scam TEFL program, solely operated by one English guy: James Anthony Dwyer.
James Anthony Dwyer also solely operates the ITT International TEFL and TESOL Ltd program, which is likewise a TEFL scam.

World TEFL Institute is not a legitimate TEFL certification online program.
I got scammed by them. The amount I lost was US$200- the “certification fee” this program charges you after you complete the course.
The certificate was the reason for my job visa application being denied for a teaching job in China.
Turns out it’s common knowledge that the program’s accreditation is fake.
Apparently the website of the accreditation was created by the owner of World TEFL Institute.
I don’t recommend!

For any World TEFL Institute students reading this article: if you feel you have been scammed by this company, you can recoup your course fee and certification fee by requesting that your bank or Paypal initiate a chargeback to your card or Paypal account.
