Teach Away OISE University of Toronto TEFL review, submitted by Joel.
It seems some people have an issue with the price of this TEFL/TESOL course through the (OISE) University of Toronto TEFL company, but I considered it worth every last cent I invested.
For one, the certification is issued through the UoT (University of Toronto TEFL) and, therefore, it is a premium product.
It’s not unusual for companies to be overzealous with their customer reply times when they are chasing you for your course payment, but I was pleasantly surprised that the level of customer service remained consistent throughout the course.
This review isn’t specifically about the UoT course – it’s more about their sister company, Teach Away, which when out of its way to help line me up with a teaching English position in HCMC (Vietnam.) It was a fantastic learning experience and the job support provided through Teach Away was equally professional and focused. When you complete the online component with UoT, you can expect to receive your hard-copy certificate within 4 weeks – this was my case anyway. I’m not sure whether UoT is still issuing hard-copy certificates, now that COVID-19 has seriously dented the international delivery times of postal services – best to contact them directly. Either way, I’m sure an electronic copy will do just as well.
Without the professional assistance from Teach Away, I would have been completely at a loss regarding where to look for work and which offers are considered good/bad. They were like a diamond in the rough for me and it’s thanks to Teach Away that I landed my job in HCMC – teaching for a great language agency, who made sure to follow through and help get all my legal working papers in order.
