When I look back, it’s still unbelievable to me that just under a year ago, I was back home living with my parents and working two (uninspiring) jobs to pay off my student debt and to be able to afford basic living expenses. Zoom forward to the present and I’m earning a little over $4,000 a month teaching English at a university in Busan, with much more time for myself and the financial freedom of being in a position where I’m able to save a substantial amount of money every month. TEFL was a real lifesaver for me and I recommend it to anyone who wants to relocate overseas for work and a sweet life adventure.

I also definitely recommend coming to South Korea to teach. I have a 27-hour working week, and for this, I earn $1,076 a week-accommodation, health insurance, and paid holidays included. A lot of people head directly to Seoul, but Busan is a far more chilled city and the coastline is amazing.
Have no regrets. One of the best decisions of my life.
