As an experienced high school teacher, I was looking to do a TEFL program that would fully prepare me for an ESL classroom environment and for the day-to-day requirements of teaching English as a foreign language abroad. I knew from the get-go that I didn’t want to attend a TEFL mill (as I have seen some other TEFL programs being referred to as,) but instead wanted to receive as much of a return as possible for the course fees paid. It was through a friend of a friend that I first found out about the tefl online pro program because that contact had taken the same course which I have since completed and was (as with me) fully satisfied with the product, service, and the end result. That friend of a friend is now teaching English online from home, but I decided on the going abroad option and found a teaching English position with notably some very generous perks out here on the southeast coast of China. At 46, I’m a little older than most of my (younger) teacher peers but I found that age hasn’t been a barrier in the slightest. Couldn’t be happier at this stage in my life.
