I was foolish to choose this TEFL program based on the program’s very low cost and also based on so many photos of their graduates, posing with their World TESOL Academy certificate, and claiming it was the best learning experience of their lives.

I decided to take their 120-hour TEFL course as this is the standard amount of hours required by schools when you want to start teaching English.

It took me an afternoon to complete the course!

No substance in the course content at all. Just a few paragraphs of text, a multiple choice quiz, and then onto the next module.

What really peeved me was the constant requests to become an affiliate member for the company.

They even reached out to me after completing the course to offer me a free mini course if I were to take a photo of myself with the TEFL certificate and send it to them. In the email, it even highlighted that I must be smiling in the photo.

I didn’t learn anything about TEFL taking this course.

What I did learn, though, was all about the shady world of affiliate marketing.

The course is cheap for a reason and comes with a lot of strings attached.

If you are reading this and if you are looking for a TEFL qualification to get you started teaching English, please avoid this company.

You might as well buy a book instead because at least then you will learn about TEFL.

I’m giving World TESOL Academy the lowest possible score of one star for my World TESOL Academy review.
