TEFL Lemon review, submitted by Phil Berry.

The TEFL Lemon’s 180hr TESOL course is an excellent program for anyone who wants to teach English as a second language. As an experienced teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience, I found the course to be both informative and engaging. The course is well-structured and covers a wide range of topics, providing a comprehensive foundation for teaching English as a second language.

The course is split into 20 units, which are designed to teach students everything they need to know about teaching English as a second language. The units cover a range of topics, including grammar, lesson plan structures, classroom management, teaching pronunciation, teaching vocabulary, online teaching, teaching receptive skills, continuous professional development, and much more. Each unit is well-planned and designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the classroom.

One of the things that stood out for me during the course was the use of a reflective journal called the Learner Diary. This journal was a valuable tool for me, as it allowed me to reflect on my teaching practice and identify areas where I needed to improve. The feedback and guidance received throughout the course were both well-planned and constructive, providing a foundation for continued professional development.

The course is designed to be interactive and engaging, with a range of multimedia resources that make learning fun and interesting. The course materials are well-organized and easy to navigate, making it easy for students to find the information they need. The course also includes a range of interactive activities and quizzes that help students to test their knowledge and reinforce what they have learned.

The course is designed to be flexible and accessible, with students able to complete the course at their own pace. This makes it ideal for students who are working or studying, as they can fit the course around their other commitments. The course also includes a range of support resources, including a tutor who is available to provide guidance and support throughout the course.

Upon completion of the course, students are awarded a global qualification that is recognized by employers around the world. This qualification provides students with the confidence and skills needed to succeed in the classroom and ensures that they are well-prepared to teach English as a second language.

One of the things that I appreciated about the course was the focus on continuous professional development. The course provides students with a foundation for ongoing learning and encourages them to continue developing their skills and knowledge. This is important in the field of teaching, where there are always new techniques and approaches to be learned.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend TEFL Lemon’s 180hr TESOL course to anyone who is interested in teaching English as a second language. The course is well-planned, informative, and engaging, with a range of multimedia resources that make learning fun and interesting. The course is flexible and accessible, making it ideal for students who have a busy schedule, and the course materials are well-organized and easy to navigate. The course provides students with a global qualification that is recognized by employers around the world, and the focus on continuous professional development ensures that students are well-prepared to teach English as a second language.

Overall, I would say that TEFL Lemon’s 180hr TESOL course is an excellent program that is well worth considering for anyone who wants to teach English as a second language.

  1. Readers of this TEFL Lemon review should be mindful of two important points:

    1. Trusted TEFL Reviews has refrained from publishing several TEFL Lemon reviews because either the reviewer could not provide proof of course participation or the review read a bit like a promotional pamphlet for TEFL Lemon.

    2. Online and in-person language school employers require applicants to have a 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certificate. 10 to 20 hours can be added for teaching practice. Teachers already in the business for years can opt for Fast-Track TEFL/TESOL certification courses. Anything more than 130 or 140 hours of TEFL/TESOL tuition is pointless and is, unfortunately, a growing trend among some TEFL/TESOL certification programs. Some feel that offering more hours equals more information learned and more skills acquired. This rarely correlates. In my opinion, programs that provide more than 140 hours of TEFL/TESOL tuition are doing so to establish a marketing niche for themselves in the crowded TEFL/TESOL training market. Some programs even go as far as to lie that employers will prefer you if you have a much higher number of hours listed on your TEFL/TESOL certificate, which is complete nonsense.

If in doubt, go with a program offering 120 hours of TEFL/TESOL tuition.

Should you wish to take a TEFL/TESOL course that consists of more than 140 hours, that is your prerogative.

I must also add that when I communicated with the owner of TEFL Lemon, he was always polite and professional.
