All my OISE TEFL Teach Away classes were online, so it was pretty convenient. The tutors were very professional and seem to care about their students. At least that’s the impression I got. I had a few problems at the start of the course because I found it hard going at first and my tutor was very supportive and encouraging. I got through the first few hurdles and the rest of the course was a lot less stressful. I got stuck on the module about the IPA chart and phonics. My tutor wrote me that everyone finds this subject difficult and not to worry so much about the details because I would pick it up more and more when I got in more and more teaching experience. This has turned out to be true. I don’t think phonics is so important as a teaching method but it is good to have some knowledge of it for lower-level-learner classes when a student finds it difficult to voice a vowel sound. The certificate has proved its worth in job interviews and I see now why OISE TEFL Teach Away is so highly ranked on Trusted TEFL Reviews.com. I’m teaching online and am happy to stick to this for the foreseeable future. A big THANK YOU to my online tutors! Strongly recommend the program.
