I enrolled in the Professional 120-hour International Online TEFL Certification course before starting a new role as a language teacher in Japan. The course offers a wide range of useful lessons and an easy-to-use platform from which to access them. The friendly and engaging writing style of each lesson makes them an enjoyable experience which has helped to build confidence in my new role.
The lesson plan creation tasks are a great way to put your newly learned skills into practice and very quick feedback is provided once submitted. I found the feedback to be very useful with practical examples given of ways to improve.
The lessons are structured so they gradually become more challenging and complex as you move through the course. I found this to be a natural way to learn and enjoyed the wide range of information presented to me.
Each lesson ends with a short quiz to test your newly acquired knowledge and there is a helpful option to contact the course tutor with quick feedback provided.
I appreciated the realistic description of teaching that was provided throughout the course. The lessons didn’t sugarcoat the teaching experience but rather, introduced the difficulties that can be present whether that be from disruptive classes, bad coursebooks, or bad environments, and provided useful ways to engage with the difficulties to come out with a positive experience that not only benefits you, but the students you are there to help. I thought this was an excellent approach and one that grounds the experience in realism.
I would happily recommend this course to anyone who is looking to gain a TEFL qualification. I spent a long time trying to find the right course and I’m happy that I found TEFL Online Pro, there is a reason it is the top-rated course! 4.5 Stars
