In my opinion, the course was perfect. Enrolling was straightforward, I got charged the amount quoted and I received access to the course soon after. The course is divided into interesting and challenging modules, which take an in-depth look at the different areas of what you need to know to be able to teach English to students of various learner levels and from different learner backgrounds. I did have to pay for the certificate after I completed the course, but it wasn’t so expensive and I really didn’t mind paying because the course price itself was quite reasonable. Compared with other courses I looked at, MyTEFL seem to be in the mid-priced range of online TEFL certification.
What completely let down the whole experience though was the complete lack of customer service. MyTEFL are really hot on replying to emails when you are about to enroll, but after that I hardly heard a peep out of them. Sometimes I got a response, often though it was tumbleweed. There was very little support during the course and the feedback on work was subpar. Post-course support was, and has been since, non-existent. Such a shame because I really thought the course was excellent. The whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth because it seems MyTEFL are only interested in your $$$. They really need to look at how they approach their customer services. I was hoping to be able to use their job support services down the road, later on when I change career path, but I just don’t see that being a realistic option as things currently stand. I’m sure I’m not alone in assuming that post-course support should be as important as before sales support.
