OISE University of Toronto TEFL review, submitted by Alexandra.
I took the University of Toronto TEFL/TESOL course before the virus hit and was teaching in Thailand up until recently, before the Thai government finally got serious and closed down all the schools. I was one of the lucky ones who made it out before they effectively closed down Suvarnabhumi Airport. Since then I have made the transition over to teaching English online. It’s not as fun or engaging as teaching in a classroom full of kids, but a virtual classroom these days is better than nothing. I took the University of Toronto TEFL course because it seemed to me to be the best alternative to a standard onsite course. The staff were wonderful, the course was excellent, and the support was there when you went looking for work. I got my job in Thailand through their partner website Teach Away and the site also came in handy for the online teaching hours that I am now building up in number rapidly. An excellent choice if you don’t mind paying the premium – something I thought was worth the extra cost in the long run.
