As a qualified teacher with 10+ years of experience teaching within the public school system, I didn’t even consider that I would need a TEFL/TESOL certificate to teach in South Korea. I applied directly to the EPIK organization, which is the umbrella organization for recruiting teachers in South Korea. When I was preparing all of my documents for the application process, my contact person at EPIK suggested I take a TEFL/TESOL course because it would start me off on a higher starting salary. When I asked her which course to take, she sent me a list of TEFL/TESOL programs that they recommend taking and the tefl online pro program was at the top of the list. I enrolled in their 120-hour program and it took me two weeks to complete the course. Even as a teacher with a lot of experience, I learned some new aspects of teaching TEFL/TESOL that I hadn’t even considered before. The support was excellent and although I didn’t need help with finding a job, I was told that if I needed it in the future then I could contact tefl online pro again and they would be there for me. My only reason for not giving the program five stars is that I signed up just before they began running a course special and when I asked if I could get it I was told that I wasn’t eligible because I hadn’t enrolled when the discount was active. This was my bad. I’m very pleased that I chose tefl online pro because of the caliber of the certification and because of the lifelong job support that will cover me if and when I decide to move on from teaching English in Seoul.
