International TEFL and TESOL Training Ltd (ITTT) were recommended to me by an online blogger named Linda. She came over as being very knowledgeable and very helpful, so I took her advice and purchased the 120-hour course with online tutor assistance.
Logging in was easy, as was accessing the modules. But when I came up against a first hurdle the tutor never did respond back. I waited a few days because I guessed they must just be busy helping other students, but I never did get a reply. I had a few more urgent questions during the course and the result was exactly the same when I tried reaching out to my tutor. Nothing.
The course was good. I didn’t have any issues with that. It seemed to cover the major TEFL areas that other courses cover. Actually, I really liked the course.
When the course was done and dusted I reached out to the ITTT office to ask how long it would take for my certificate to get delivered to my home address. To my pleasant surprise, I received a reply straight away. It was an invoice to pay for my TEFL certificate and shipping costs: $150.
I just paid it and a few months later the certificate finally came.
I thought that was going to be the end of the whole ITTT debacle.
But no, when I went to get my certificate legalized for a teaching job in Vietnam I was told it couldn’t be done with the TEFL certificate I had from ITTT.
I immediately contacted the ITTT office but this time I never got a reply back.
So now, I’m back to square one and choosing another TEFL program to go through. One which will issue me a certificate that will be recognized in Vietnam.
International TEFL and TESOL Training Ltd (ITTT) just want your money.
I later learned that Linda, the “helpful” blogger, works for ITTT, and it’s her job to bring in new clients.
