TEFL Institute review, submitted by Silvia.
Chose the TEFL Institute 240 Hour Master TEFL Course and naturally thought the large number of hours (240) would put me in a better standing in job interviews. This hasn’t turned out to be the case. Every job I’ve applied to asks to see my certificate and every single time bar none I’m questioned why 240 hours? Turns out you only need 120 hours. Did I like the course? Yes, though I don’t have anything to compare it with. Would I take the same course again? Absolutely not. Still, my online job depended on getting TEFL and without it I would not now be working. Feeling conflicted.

Hi Sylvia, thank you for sharing this feedback. I am genuinely surprised that employers are questioning the 240‑hour course, as those additional specialist modules are designed to enhance your profile and, in many cases, support higher earning potential. The quickest way to clear up your concerns would be to contact our academic or support team directly so they can explain how your qualification is structured and how to present it to employers. If you are happy to share your enrolment number privately, I will ask the team to review your situation and contact you to address your concerns in more detail and help you get the most value from your certificate.
