Excellent course with CIEE. Having previous (unqualified at the time) English teacher volunteer experience at a small school in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I quickly came to the conclusion that I would be a more productive and effective individual in this field if I got TEFL certified. Initially, I was thinking about doing a 4-week onsite course, but the prices for these in-person programs are ridiculously high. Was a bit cautious of doing it online because I did think the pricing was too good to be true, but my worries were unfounded. Took me two weeks to complete everything, another week to wait for the certificate to arrive, and ever since I’ve used the certificate for online and in-person teaching. Why, in 2026, would anyone do a 4-week in-person TEFL course? They are antiquated and considering the cost and time involved, they just don’t match up to online versions.
