I must admit that despite mostly enjoying what I learned, I did struggle quite a bit with this course. It works on the Moodle platform. Moodle is an open-source learner management platform, and I had heard of them before taking my Bridge TEFL course. The problem I found with Moodle, was the inflexible nature of the platform. Unlike many TEFL courses that you can take online, Moodle has exact start and completion dates that you must follow, or else you won’t complete the course within the designated time window. I also found it incredibly complicated to navigate in the first few days as it is basically a very complicated system to suddenly get used to and there’s a lot of information to take in within a short period of time. Having said that, the content of the course was on a very high level. What I also liked was how you could communicate not only with the course teacher but also with other students who were taking the course at the same time. Bridge TEFL is one of the most well-known TEFL companies in North America, and I would recommend taking the TEFL with them. I’ve used the certificate numerous times and it is, therefore, a good investment for a TEFL teaching career. I would just question the need to overcomplicate the learning process when I’m sure there are much more straightforward learning systems out there that Bridge TEFL could adopt instead.
