Not the cheapest TESL course but absolutely worth it. This is how I would sum up the TESL training course I took through the University of Toronto remote learning program.
The process of enrolling was straightforward, as was the process of making my way through the study materials. I was worried the course might be too difficult to take online but it wasn’t complicated at all. There is also help on hand from experienced online tutors if you need it. I didn’t require that much help I’m happy to report. Still, I did have questions when my coursework was returned marked and I was very satisfied with the overall feedback.
I originally wanted to teach in Thailand, until the pandemic hit. I still really want to teach there. Now that the country has fully opened up, I’m going to take the plunge and travel there at the beginning of 2024.
In the meantime, I’m content teaching English online and gaining more experience while I hone this new craft. So far, all is going well and I am gradually taking on more and more students.
I’d recommend the TESL course through the University of Toronto in a heartbeat. It’s not the cheapest TESL course out there but surely must be one of the best. I thought so anyway.
