I enrolled in the Professional 120-hour International Online TEFL Certification course after some research on the internet. There are many courses out there, but I chose TEFL Online Pro because of their excellent ratings and reviews as well as the structure of their courses.
The course has 14 useful lessons and is very easy to use. Lesson instructions are clear, concise, and straightforward – you know what is expected at the start of each lesson and what the subject matter is. The lessons are put together well, sensibly, and logically structured and I found them to be quite an enjoyable experience.
The lessons are structured so they gradually become more challenging and complex as you move through the course. I found this to be a really great way to learn.
One of the things I liked is that you answer a quiz (test) after each lesson and receive your test results immediately, thus you can see where your mistakes are and know if you can proceed to the next lesson – no sitting and wondering where you stand!
There are two assignments (one halfway through the course and one at the end) where you perform a practical test on the skills you’ve acquired and I was pleasantly surprised at the VERY prompt feedback provided once I submitted the completed assignment. The feedback gave me useful insight in my progress and understanding of the course material, providing positive and practical corrections to errors I made.
You are assigned a tutor when you join, to assist if you need help, and you have full online access to the tutor at any time during the lesson.
At the end of the course, you are given helpful, realistic teaching conditions to be expected in the world out there and helpful methods you can use to deal with these problems to achieve a positive experience for the students you are there to help, as well as for yourself.
This made it very real for me.
I am very excited to start teaching and hope to deliver quality work to potential English learners!
