International TEFL Academy

“DO take your TEFL certificate online”

5 star online tefl review

International TEFL Academy review, submitted by Tina.

I wanted to teach English in China, so I decided to do a TEFL course. While I was researching courses online, I read posts by many people who warned me not to take a TEFL course online as my certificate wouldn’t be accepted at teaching English schools. Many posters recommended taking a CELTA (or equivalent) course. It turns out this was misguided advice as the CELTA isn’t even recognized in Asia, and I had zero issues with my online TEFL cert at the companies I applied for work at. The lesson learnt through my experience is DO take your TEFL certificate online – it will save you a whole load of hassle by doing so – and DON’T listen to the rubbish posted online in the TEFL forums. trustedteflreviews.com is a real diamond in the rough when it comes to accurate TEFL information, and the International TEFL Academy was an excellent online TEFL choice.

Took their 170-Hour online TEFL certification course. Tina.

  1. I forgot to add that the International TEFL Academy 170-Hour Online TEFL certification course fee is $1,399. It also includes 20 hours teaching practicum. I recommend it! Tina.

  2. Hi Tina!

I’ve just read your review, and strongly agree with the logical conclusion you took, regarding the Online TEFL vs CELTA/Onsite residential TEFL course argument. I would like to further this by adding that TEFL forums are hotbeds for TEFL program owners/representatives – out to trash competing TEFL programs, while hoping to gain more customers for their own TEFL programs. What often appears to be an innocently-perceived TEFL forum question and answer, is often a TEFL program acting under the radar, attempting to trash a competing TEFL program, and blood-thirst set on winning over new TEFL students for their own TEFL program courses offer.

reddit is probably one of the worse examples of prolific TEFL school astroturf marketing – where highly motivated anonymous users, acting with impunity, freely spread nonsense about competing Online TEFL schools, and the Online TEFL industry in general.

It’s great that you strongly recommend the (ITA) International TEFL Academy Online TEFL certification program, and we really appreciate you coming over to trustedteflreviews.com, and leaving your verifed review.

I would just like to clarify with you though, whether or not you made an error in your comment; writing that the course fee for this combined Online/Onsite TEFL course is $1,399. Was this a typo? If it was, please add a comment response below, to clarify how much you paid in total for the ITA combined 170-Hour online TEFL certification course.

If it was an error, then people reading your review comment might be put-off taking this course, due of the very high course fee.

    Thank you for your time.

    Mia.

  3. No typo, and I thought $1,399 was a reasonable price, considering it came with the 20 hours teaching practicum, plus the online TEFL course. Why? Are do you think I overpaid? Starting to get a little nervous over whether it was such a great deal after all.

  4. Hi Tina!

We are an unbiased Online TEFL reviews website, so I’m not able to comment directly on any one specific Online TEFL course program’s offer, but what I would recommend doing is reading through all other reviews published on Trusted TEFL Reviews, where you can find similar course offers – like the one you took with International Academy TEFL, and where you can conduct a price comparison.

Hindsight though is 20/20, and as long as you are happy with your chose of combined Online/Onsite international TEFL/TESOL course, then that’s all that matters.

I felt that I just needed to raise the point regarding the course price you paid, so that other readers could have a more balanced foresight of the pricing of this particular (ITA) Online TEFL/TESOL certification course offer.

Anyway, glad you were totally satisfied with your International Academy TEFL program course, and all the best teaching English in Asia. You will love it! 🙂

    Mia.

  5. I took my international Online/Onsite TEFL combined course with tefl online pro for only $549.

I’ve since compared the International TEFL Academy program offer with the tefl online pro program offer, and can’t notice any indiscernible differences in either programs’ combined Online/Onsite TEFL certification offers.

The Online/Onsite international TEFL/TEOL course which I took earlier this year, through the tefl online pro program, came to $549, and on top of that, I received a $100 course fee discount – making the full course fee just $459. And the cherry on the cake was their round- the-clock support.

At the end of the course, and 20 teaching practice segments, I received my certificate within four weeks, and when schools looked at my certificate during the employment process, they assumed I’d taken a full-time, CELTA-equivalent certificaton course – little difference in the final product.

Man, looks like you might have been International TEFL Academy ripped off big time, Tina.

Here is a link to the course I took: https://teflonlinepro.com/140-hour-hybrid/

It’s almost $1000 bucks cheaper than the one you took, and offers the same product – but with what appears to be substantial more international job support.
