I have been teaching for a few years now and needed to get hold of a TEFL certificate due to the recent clamp down over here in China-meaning all teachers are expected to have one now. Because of this I chose the first one I saw which fit my budget and the TEFL Academy just so happened to be the one I chose. Thought the course was alright (besides a poor decision to rely on Wikipedia and About.com for course content) and it was a good means to an end for me. Not really sure if I would recommend it to people starting out fresh, but it would be ideal for someone who just needs a cheapo TEFL certificate. China accepted the certificate so don’t sweat about it being recognized or not.
